Who Is This?

Does anyone know the origin or archetype for this character? I bought the virtual doll for my matrix because it seems to nudge at my memory, like I have seen the image in fantasy art many times since I was a child, but I just can't place it exactly. I know it has to do with squids or octopus tentacles. I was thinking of using him and calling him Zombini the zombie king in my Lammy fantasy blog. There's just something that fascinates me about him: that creepy feeling you get when you see spiders and roaches.
